The San Clemente Watershed Task
Force is a grassroots citizens’ group
founded in 2004 in response to urbanization’s growing
impact on the local watershed - including the creeks, beaches,
and the Pacific Ocean. These areas are beloved to our community
and to the visitors that enjoy them. The Task Force recognizes
the watershed’s inherent value, and in that spirit,
hopes to fulfill goals created through public discussions
and monthly meetings.
Mission Statement
To bring more understanding, support and resources to
the efforts aimed at reducing litter and pollutants
ending up in our streets, open space, storm drains
and beaches
To reduce the amount of solid waste going into our landfills
by 50% through a city-wide effort to Reduce, Reuse and
Recycle.
Goals
1. To educate the community on the impacts that our
daily lives cause our local watershed and foster
a sense of ownership and involvement in protecting
those waters.
2. To foster a level of awareness and involvement
with all stakeholders.
